Jharkhand Tribal and Regional Languages Convention (JTRLC) has decided to boycott the seventh foundation day of the state. They protest and demanding to make the second language status of the tribal languages. Jharkhand Tribal and Regional Language Convention is an association of 15 tribal bodies, which formed Thursday.

Jharkhand government has decided to make knowledge of at least one tribal language is compulsory for government officials. Ho, Mundari, Kurukh and Santhali are the main tribal language of Jharkhand. Knowledge of one of these four tribal language will be essential to get promotion, increment and salary of the government officials in Jharkhand.
